John Douds, DVM
- Dr. Douds is a 1979 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and has been treating both large and small animals in the Lorain - Huron County area since 1982. His practice is now limited to small animals. He resides in Wakeman Township with his wife Sandy, cat, Buster, and dog Tibia. He has a special interest in surgery, endoscopy, and ferrets. Outside activities include church, running, and building maintenance.
Sara Miesse, DVM
- Dr. Miesse, originally from Celina, Ohio, now resides in Elyria with her four cats, Annie, Tyler, Harley, and Libby. She received her veterinary and undergraduate degrees from The Ohio State University. She enjoys feline medicine, cardiac and respiratory cases, and general surgery. In her free time she enjoys movies, books, tropical fish keeping, scrap booking, and gardening.
Emily Nicely, DVM
- Dr. Nicely obtained her veterinary and teaching degrees from The Ohio State University and feels client education is one of the most important aspects of veterinary practice. Geriatric medicine, dentistry, and internal medicine are her main interests at work. Outside of the office she values her time with her family, husband Chris Burns, children Jasper and Violet, and cats Cosmo and Tut. Relaxation comes in the forms of yoga, woodcarving, scrap booking, and bird watching.
Michelle Balas, DVM
- Dr. Balas graduated from The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994 and has been associated with Douds Veterinary Hospital since 1998. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association. Her special interests are internal medicine, behavior, and pain management. She is married to Jim, and they have two children ages 6 and 8 years old. The Balas family resides in Brownhelm Township with their two cats, two dogs, and two horses.
