Michelle Balas, DVM

Dr. Balas graduated from The Ohio State University. A little-known fact is that she studied voice in college and entertained the crowd at a presidential rally. Lucky for us, Dr. Balas gave up her dreams of the stage to become a rockstar veterinarian!

Never too shy to get down to a furry friend's level and put her lifetime Fear Free Certification to its intended use, you will often find Dr. Balas sitting on the floor with her patient, making sure they are comfortable. With special interests in pain management and behavior, our Chief of Staff is not one to shrink from a challenge and enjoys the opportunity to research alternative therapies for the pet body and mind.

England and Egypt are on her must-see list, but for now Dr. Balas is happy to take in the scenery closer to home. Brownhelm Township is where she lays her head, along with her husband, two children, and menagerie of pets. The lake is never far from her heart, and while traveling is definitely in her future, Northern Ohio will always be home.
